HOMES in Greater Manchester are being offered an exclusive green energy deal, backed by renewable electricity generated in the North West of England.
The tariff, which is limited to the first 1,000 homes to apply, is from Octopus Energy, one of the UK’s fastest growing suppliers, and can save a typical Greater Manchester home £272 a year.
Residents can access the deal, which is backed by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), at www.gmgreen.energy
Green energy experts Big Clean Switch, who negotiated the tariff, say the Octopus deal combines low-cost green power with the supplier’s award-winning customer service. Octopus is the only UK energy firm to have been named as a Which? recommended provider for the last two years.
Every unit of electricity used by homes on the tariff will be matched by power generated at High Pow Wind Farm in Wigton, Cumbria.
The exclusive deal is only available until Wednesday, April 17, and is timed to coincide with the launch of a five-year environment plan launched at Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s green summit.
